Google’s first first-party Find Hub tracker, Pixel Tag, is a direct shot at Apple’s AirTag. Announced August 12, it is priced at $29 for a single and $99 for a four-pack, with availability set for November 11, 2026. TechCrunch’s hardware write-up details an elongated oval design (about 1.1 × 1.8 inches, 0.2 inches thick, ~0.4 oz with battery), IP67 rating, Bluetooth plus Ultra Wideband for precision finding, a built-in speaker, and a user-replaceable CR2032 coin cell claimed around one year of life. It does not include NFC. Tags attach to keys and bags and appear in Android’s Find Hub network; users can also ring a tag from a Pixel Watch. Strategically, Google is betting that a thinner shape plus Android’s massive device graph can chip away at AirTag’s lead—if the network density feels as “magic” in apartments and airports. Until November, the story is preorder interest and ecosystem lock-in for people already buying Pixel 11.
