Claude Fable 5.1 Lands on Amazon Bedrock as a “Covered Model”

Fable 5.1 is on Bedrock — and it brings Anthropic’s “Covered Model” rulebook with it

AWS announced Claude Fable 5.1 on Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS the same day as Anthropic’s public launch. Because of its capability level, Anthropic classifies Fable 5.1 as a Covered Model: extra data-retention, safety-review, and access policies follow it onto every host. On Bedrock that means up to 30-day retention and possible Amazon human review unless customers configure data-retention modes and meet enablement requirements.

AWS also highlights Enterprise Frontier Safeguards for eligible customers who want Fable-class power with customer-controlled storage and stronger privacy postures through at least the end of 2026 for internal use paths described in the post. For platform teams, the procurement checklist just got a new row: model quality, price, and “covered” compliance baggage travel together.
