Dyson’s newest category jump is the CameraJet, a $499 electric toothbrush with a built-in water flosser and an endoscope-style camera. Gap Optical Targeting analyzes about 28 frames per second and fires a conical rinse jet when the head sits over interdental gaps, guided by a model Dyson says was trained on 470,000 dental images across six years of R&D.
A 12.5 ml alcohol-free rinse tank, RFID brush-head wear tracking, variable sonic oscillation, and a MyDyson app with live camera view and coverage maps round out the pitch. Dyson claims up to 69% more plaque removal in hard-to-reach zones versus leading premium brushes in lab tests (brush-only variable mode, company fine print). Whether dentists bless the category or not, the gadget internet just got a very Dyson problem: a camera in your mouth that wants a software account.
