Under new owner Picea Robotics, iRobot is back on a big show floor with the Roomba Max 875 Combo at $1,199 and a midrange Plus 678 Combo at $899, both available now on irobot.com. The headline tech is SealForce: a sealing approach meant to pull more dirt out of carpet than suction alone, paired on the 875 with ThermaMist heated pretreat, a hair-cutting anti-tangle main brush, and a retractable mop cover that keeps carpets drier.
The 875 also mops with more downward pressure than the prior flagship class; the 678 keeps SealForce but drops to 30,000Pa suction and swaps ThermaMist for SprayForce stain pre-soaks. Matter certification is in progress, with Alexa, Google Home, and Siri Shortcuts support. It is a “better vacuum physics” story more than a legged robot stunt — and that is exactly what carpet owners asked for.
