Waymo said it will begin inviting riders on a rolling basis in Denver, San Diego, and Tampa, then ramp access using its usual commercial playbook. TechCrunch reports the expansion lifts Waymo’s fleet of Jaguar I-Pace robotaxis plus a new Ojai minivan past 4,000 vehicles. The three-city wave follows commercial services already live across a growing U.S.

map that includes Phoenix, San Francisco Bay Area expansion, Los Angeles, Austin (via Uber), Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Nashville, Orlando, and San Antonio — with Las Vegas permits for up to 1,000 vehicles approved last month and London and Munich still on the international roadmap. Tesla remains the competitive backdrop, but Waymo’s story this week is pure scale: more cities, more vehicle types, same staged invite-to-public path.
