9to5Mac reports The Weather Channel’s Storm Radar iPhone app now runs on CarPlay, joining a wider push that already added AI forecast features on phone/iPad and an Apple Watch client. The CarPlay UI shows a location map with satellite or standard backgrounds, radar/cloud/precipitation layers, and navigation-aware weather: current conditions plus ETA weather at your destination, with rerouting hooks and along-route alerts that refresh while you drive.
Version 4.0.19 also brings new home-screen widgets and a redesigned Watch app. For drivers, the useful bit is glanceable hazard context without unlocking a phone — especially in storm season — inside Apple’s approved car UI model rather than a risky windshield mount browser.
