Google’s Photo Picker is gaining a clearer location-metadata choice, and Snapseed is the first major app Android Authority caught implementing it. When you pick an image inside Snapseed via the system picker, Android can now ask whether to include or strip the photo’s location data before the editor receives it. That closes a long-standing privacy footgun: sharing a beach photo should not silently hand a precise GPS tag to every downstream app.
Because the control lives in the picker, more apps can inherit the pattern without inventing custom EXIF dialogs. If you edit and repost photos often, this is the kind of small OS change that prevents accidental doxxing more effectively than another settings deep-link nobody finds.
