Take-Two is now using the legal route to chase the GTA 6 leak trail. GamesIndustry.biz reported that Rockstar’s parent company filed subpoenas targeting Microsoft, Discord, and X, asking for records tied to online accounts involved in posting and sharing leaked Grand Theft Auto 6 material. The request reportedly includes user data, linked OneDrive and Xbox accounts, and GitHub-related material because GitHub is owned by Microsoft.

The filing says the information would be used to identify alleged infringers and protect Take-Two’s rights. This is the strongest industry angle in the leak story: a publisher trying to connect anonymous leak personas to real platform records. It also shows why the leak is not just “fans saw gameplay early.” It has moved into copyright enforcement, account tracing, cloud storage, chat servers, and platform cooperation.
