8BitDo has opened sales of the FlipPad, the tiny flip-style mobile pad it showed at CES 2026. 9to5Google reported the launch on August 14. The price is $29.99, €29.99, or £24.99, on Amazon and 8BitDo’s own shop.
The idea is small and wired, not another Bluetooth brick. You plug the pad into the phone over USB-C. A hinge lets the controls sit over the screen with a rubber pad against the glass, then flip open so you can answer a message without unplugging. Official specs list a D-pad, ABXY, Select and Start, plus L1/L2 and R1/R2. Size is 70 × 66.5 × 19.7 mm. Weight is 31.5 g. The USB-C port is rated for more than 10,000 insertions. The hinge is rated for more than 6,000 open/close cycles. It is built for portrait play and most phone cases; 8BitDo recommends phones about 8–10 mm thick.
Software floors: Android 13 or later, or iOS 26.2 on iPhone. There is no battery and no pairing step. That is the point for emulator sessions and any mobile title that already speaks a standard gamepad. A low-profile black colorway is listed as an eShop exclusive. This is not a new console and not a wireless pro controller. It is a $30 hinge that turns a phone into a short handheld, now actually buyable.
